Dan Holdridge graciously kicked off Old Saybrook's 2nd annual Expo with the ribbon cutting ceremony and a brief, but reverent, introduction this past Saturday, March 19.
Holdridge, author of Surviving September 11th: The Story of a September 11th Survivor, acknowledged those who were lost in the 9/11 attacks and those who protect us both at home and abroad. His statement was clear: show appreciation for our public servants and live each day to the fullest. More than once he expressed his gratitude to the Chamber and its guests for inviting him to be a part of the Expo.
Throughout the day, Holdridge sold and signed copies of his book. Part of the proceeds from the book sales were donated to the Josh Piver Foundation, set up by a group of Piver's friends in his memory after losing him on 9/11.
"I had a really nice time, sold a few books and met a lot of great people from the Old Saybrook community," said Holdridge. "It was a great event—I'm sure those in attendance would echo my comments."
